As an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist

I have been applying my skills to Expert Witness work in the Civil Courts since 2012. I hold the Cardiff University and Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Accreditation Certificate and undertake regular CPD not only in expert witness work itself, but to keep my clinical knowledge and skills up to date in the areas of relevance to this work. Being a practicing clinician during half of my working week is an important adjunct to this substantial part of my practice.

I also regularly opine on birth-related injuries for young people and also for adults and young people, the impact of alleged or proven negligence in the form of missed diagnoses or unsuccessful or unnecessary medical/surgical procedures in clinical negligence cases. I have experience therefore of applying my expert skills to a broad range of medical scenarios in this field. My reports are thorough, balanced and impartial.

We provide a reliable and personal service via my dedicated team administrator to ensure timely liaison between instructing party and expert, and excellent communication throughout the reporting process.

I have significant experience in joint statement preparation and attending conferences with Counsel. I have presented at legal conferences and provided training for solicitors on a variety of related topics.

Whether undertaking assessments for Defendant or Claimant instructing parties, I produce clear, reliable and impartial reports in complex psychological matters. I combine a trauma-informed yet meticulous and independent approach to all my reports and assessments. I am skilled in dealing with highly sensitive and emotive cases, whereby my clinical and expert skills find a good synthesis, whilst remaining aware of my overriding duty to the court at all times.
